Communication Skills

Course ID:  104

Description:

Communication skills rank first as the most desired competencies for all businesses and all levels.
The Communication Skills Workshop is designed to provide you with ideas and skill-building
exercises that enhance your confidence listening, speaking with individuals and small groups,
giving presentations, writing emails, and giving and receiving feedback.  You will learn these
skills by reading articles selected for their insights and by completing self-tests throughout
the workshop.  Case studies at the end of each unit remind you of important concepts and
help you to recognize effective and ineffective ways to communicate, and a final case study
helps you apply all the concepts supplied in the course.

Here are some of the comments of students who have completed the course:

“I found this unit very useful.  I learned about the six mistakes that spoil a conversation and how to converse with people who make these mistakes.  It’s important to me to be able to enter conversations more confidently and relaxed.  This helped me not only on a work/business level but also on a personal level.”

“I really enjoyed this Unit…In these articles I was able to identify with some common behaviors that prevent me from being a good listener.  I also learned how to improve my own skills as a listener.”

“The program was easy to navigate and since this is my first time doing a “webcourse,” I found this enjoyable and…you could go at your own pace…No matter how old you are, or how confident you may feel, there is still much to learn.  I would definitely recommend this course.”
