National Flood Insurance Overview

Description:

Flood is the nation’s number one natural disaster. And because of its unpredictability and catastrophic nature, insurance is not always available. In this course students will learn about the background, availability, and criteria for the National Flood Insurance Program.  Students will visit the National Flood’s website to directly gain knowledge about how it operates.  In addition, students will learn about the benefits of flood insurance and the options that property owners have for financing flood losses. The Learning Sites will also point students to the coverage of a standard flood policy and other resources and information available on the National Flood’s website including the online calculator, hazard zones, and Quick Quotes. Each screen will give the learner the opportunity to test their knowledge.
