SEMESTER COURSE and PRE-LICENSING 
REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration
Pre-registration is required.  No student will be admitted to class without having completed and submitted
to The Insurance Society office a registration form accompanied by class fees in full. Early registration is
recommended to determine class status. Please use the registration form provided on-line or in the
Insurance Society’s brochures.  Forms can be submitted online, faxed or mailed.  

Tuition Fee
Payment must accompany the registration form.  Payment can be made via VISA, MasterCard, 
American Express or check made payable to The Insurance Society of Philadelphia.  Financial 
Hardship Assistance inquiries should be directed to the President of the Insurance Society at 
215-627-5306.

Registration Fee
A $25.00 non-refundable registration fee must accompany each application.

Late Registration Fee 
There is a $30.00 late registration fee on applications submitted after the registration date specified.

Continuing Education Fee/Certificate Fee
Most courses are approved for continuing education credits.  To verify type, state, and amount of 
credit contact the Insurance Society.  Requests for CE Certificates require the payment of a
$10 certificate fee.  CE request forms are completed on the first day of class.  Bring your license
number to class.

Non-Member Fee
Sponsoring member companies of The Insurance Society receive discounted tuition.  Contact
the Insurance Society  for membership information.

Refund Policy 
No refunds will be made for a cancellation received later than five days prior to the date of the
first class.  A non-refundable registration fee of $25.00 will be deducted from all refunds.

Confirmation
The Society will confirm your registration by email within one week of receiving your registration.

Grades
A Pass/Fail grade will be given on request for any IIA/CPCU course.  Grade request forms will 
be available at the first class and must be submitted at that time. All students in the Workers’ 
Compensation Designation Program will receive a grade for each class.  A grade of “C” or 
better is required for each class.  The criteria for grading includes quality of preparation for class, 
quality of written work, quizzes, exams and depth of understanding of material.

Textbooks and Course Guides 
The cost of textbooks and course guides is NOT included in the tuition fee.  Orders should be 
placed prior to the first class.  In the event of canceled classes, book returns are allowed only 
for the Institute, however, please check the order form for details of the return policy.

Workers Compensation Claims - add the noted materials fee.

Holidays  
The calendar of holidays is determined by the instructor of each class in consultation with
the students.  Procedures for notifying students of an emergency cancellation of a class are
established by the instructor and communicated to the class the first night of class.

Records
The Insurance Society keeps files for each student with the information from the registration
form and the class attendance record.  Records are made available to employers who request
attendance reports.
