The Joseph F. Morris Scholarship was established to recognize the legacy and contributions made by Joe Morris to both ISOP and the Insurance industry.  Over his more than 35 years in the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry, Joe demonstrated excellent leadership and sound business strategy skills. He was also an engaged and committed leader of ISOP and was a board member until late 2018.

Joe was instrumental in challenging ISOP leadership to provide financial support to both the risk management/insurance students in Southeastern Pennsylvania and young professionals committed to the industry and looking for ways to continue their development by furthering their education.

As a testament to both Joe's storied career and leadership, he held the positions of President or CEO of the following P&C insurance companies: American European Insurance Group; Stonecreek Specialty Underwriters, a subsidiary of Selective Insurance Group; James River Insurance Company; The Philadelphia Contributionship; United America Indemnity; Penn America and various leadership positions at Reliance Insurance Company.

The ISOP Scholarship Committee awards the Joseph F. Morris Scholarship to the student who they believe has most positively demonstrated their leadership skills and commitment to the industry.
